联合王国在安全理事会面前重申支持摩洛哥撒哈拉自治倡议

On Friday, October 30, 2026, the United Kingdom renewed, before the United Nations Security Council, its support for the autonomy initiative in the Moroccan Sahara, according to the website ofParliament.com.

The United Kingdom believes that this initiative is the most credible, realistic and viable solution to the regional dispute over the Moroccan Sahara, and that it forms the basis for a lasting settlement of this dispute.

This came in the context of explaining her country's position on the vote, after the Security Council did not renew the mandate of MINURSO. Ambassador, Permanent Representative of the United Kingdom to the United Nations, Sarah McIntosh, confirmed, this position before the members of the Board.

The British ambassador called on members to deal with the Sahara issue with a view to accelerating progress towards a just, lasting and mutually acceptable solution.
